Doctoral Internships

Applewood Centers offers a Doctoral Internship with a focus in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. We operate using the practitioner-scientist model within a community mental health agency. The program combines broad clinical experience, extensive supervision and didactic training to prepare interns for professional practice in psychology. The internship emphasizes core areas of clinical child practice in:

  • Outpatient psychotherapy
  • Psychological assessment
  • Possible opportunities in Residential Treatment and Early Childhood Therapy

Our professional internship programs include:

  1. Program for Psychiatry Residents from Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland
  2. Doctoral Internship Program accredited by the American Psychological Association for those seeking a doctoral degree in psychology

Applewood supports and celebrates the cultural and ethnic diversity of our staff and clients. Therefore, we encourage applicants who are interested in working in such a setting. We also strongly encourage minority applicants who will add to the diversity of our clinical staff.
