Affiliations and Accreditation

Applewood Centers is licensed and certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS), and licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Education. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and American Psychological Association. Funding is provided in part by United Way Services, Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County and Lorain County Board of Mental Health. Additional affiliations include:

Partnerships

Applewood Centers is a contract provider agency in Cuyahoga County's System of Care. This program provides family-centered, community-based mental health services to at-risk children and youth. We are lead partner in the project with three Neighborhood Collaboratives: Central – Led by Friendly Inn Settlement, Broadway – Led by University Settlement and Hough – Led by the Cleveland Urban Minority Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Outreach Program (UMADAOP).

Outcomes

We collect data from various sources to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs. Data is collected through satisfaction and stakeholder surveys, the Ohio Scales (a state-wide measure of the effectiveness of clinical treatment), and other standardized tools.

Compliance and Privacy

We maintain the highest level of respect for those we serve, and a commitment to standards of service delivery and business practices that are sound, ethical and in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements. We enforce a Code of Conduct for all our employees and abide by the requirements of the Federal Reduction Act of 2005 and the False Claims Act, which determines action to be taken in the event of fraud, waste or abuse of government funds. We also follow privacy standards as outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
